Ceramic Coating
Ceramic Coating in North Fort Worth & Southlake
Flo Details is a System X certified installer. A ceramic coating is a professional-grade layer that bonds to your clear coat and protects it for years, not months. Our 3-year coating starts at $950 and our 5-year coating at $1,400, and both include the decontamination and polishing a coating needs to bond correctly.
What ceramic coating actually does
A ceramic coating is a nano-ceramic formula that cures into a hard, glossy layer on top of your clear coat. It sheds water and dirt, blocks UV, and makes the car much easier to wash. It is not armor. It won't stop rock chips or deep scratches, which is what paint protection film is for.
The result depends on the prep. Any swirls or haze left in the paint get locked under the coating, which is why every package includes decontamination and a cut and polish first.
Ceramic coating vs wax
Wax and silica sealants sit on top of the paint and wear off in months. A ceramic coating bonds to the clear coat and lasts years with the right care. Wax costs less up front. A coating costs less over time if you plan to keep the vehicle. Read the full comparison.
Keeping your coating and warranty
Coated vehicles need an annual maintenance detail to keep the coating performing and the warranty valid. That visit includes a full wash, decontamination, a light polish, and a ceramic topper, starting at $375 for sedans.

Frequently asked questions
How much does ceramic coating cost in Fort Worth?
Our 3-year System X coating starts at $950 and our 5-year coating starts at $1,400. Both include decontamination and a 2-stage cut and polish. Vehicles that need heavier paint correction first are quoted after an assessment.
How long does ceramic coating last?
Bead Lock Pro is rated for 3 years and Diamond SS for 5 years when maintained. An annual maintenance detail keeps the coating performing and is required to keep the warranty valid.
Is ceramic coating worth it?
If you plan to keep the vehicle for a few years, usually yes. You get stronger gloss, easier washing, and protection that doesn't need reapplying every few months. If you trade cars every year or two, a Level 3 detail with 1-year silica protection may be the better value.
Does ceramic coating stop scratches and rock chips?
It resists light marring and keeps paint easier to clean, but it won't stop rock chips or deep scratches. Paint protection film does that, and PPF with a coating on top gives you the most complete protection.
Can you coat a car that has swirl marks?
Yes, but the swirls need to come out first or they get sealed under the coating. Every package includes a cut and polish, and cars with heavier defects get full paint correction before coating.
How do I wash a ceramic coated car?
Hand wash with a pH-neutral soap, skip automatic car washes with brushes, and dry with a clean microfiber towel. Washing every couple of weeks keeps the coating performing at its best.
